Catalytic Upgrading of Bio-oil from Ulva lactuca using Amberlyst-15 Catalyst: Experimental and Kinetic Model
نویسندگان
چکیده
Catalytic pyrolysis of Ulva lactuca macroalgae was studied over Amberlyst-15 catalyst at temperature 400, 500, and 600 oC. The comparison between catalytic non-catalytic in the conversion determined. Intriguingly, it found that improved bio-oil production efficiency. highest yield 29.54 wt% achieved oC with presence an catalyst. Furthermore, could enhance gas by 73.88%. It be attributed due to promote more small molecules are volatile through a cracking process. Elemental functional groups pyrolytic bio-oils were identified via GC-MS analysis. acidity structure significantly affected distribution product components, especially formation aromatic hydrocarbons, 27.78% relative yield. first-order kinetic model showed hydrocarbons follows Arrhenius law.

متن کاملIn situ catalytic hydrogenation of model compounds and biomass-derived phenolic compounds for bio-oil upgrading
The renewable phenolic compounds produced by directional liquefaction of biomass are a mixture of complete fragments decomposed from native lignin. These compounds are unstable and difficult to use directly as biofuel. Here, we report an efficient in situ catalytic hydrogenation method that can convert phenolic compounds into saturated cyclohexanes. The process has high potential for production...
متن کاملUpgrading of Pyrolysis Bio-oil: A Review
The increase in the population of the planet and the rapid economic growth and, consequently, the high consumption of energy has created many environmental problems in the globe. Due to these reasons and the lack of renewability of these fossil fuels, there has been a steep trend towards the production of renewable fuels from natural sources, one of which is the production of energy from biomas...
متن کاملCatalytic Hydrodeoxygenation of Bio-oil Model Compounds over Pt/HY Catalyst
The hydrodeoxygenation of a model compound of lignin-derived bio-oil, guaiacol, which can be obtained from the pyrolysis of biomass to bio-oil, has attracted considerable research attention because of its huge potential as a substitute for conventional fuels. In this study, platinum-loaded HY zeolites (Pt/HY) with different Si/Al molar ratios were used as catalysts for the hydrodeoxygenation of...
متن کاملUpgrading of Bio-oil Molecular Distillation Fraction with Solid Acid Catalyst
Molecular distillation technology has been adopted to obtain a bio-oil fraction rich in carboxylic acids and ketones. This unique bio-oil fraction was then upgraded with a La-promoted solid acid catalyst. Three washing pretreatments were used to prepare catalysts A, B, and C, with the intention of reducing the amounts of residual sulfuric acid. Model reactions were used to estimate their cataly...
